As Nova is a start-up fashion business, we do not manage a complex supply chain as our founder, Nika, is mainly responsible for all business operations and production processes. Nika personally procures her materials from local suppliers in Pretoria and Johannesburg and transports them to her studio where she is responsible for producing Nova’s unique standard and personalised products. Nika is not only in control of the design of Nova’s products, but is also responsible for the pattern making and the sewing of the garments. Additionally, as Nova is a very intimate business, Nika is also in charge for storing all materials and products at her studio in Pretoria which means that customers’ orders can be fulfilled directly from her workshop. As part of Nova’s fulfilment strategy, we have chosen Pargo and Paxi as our third party logistic providers.

Nova the collective wishes to ensure that all their packaging is as sustainable as possible and that we remain responsible by using the most sustainable delivery avenues in order to bring you your product. The Nova product is packaged in a cotton calico drawstring bag that is made from a fully fibre fabric that allows for the safe travel and keeping of your Nova product. This drawstring bag is also multi-use as the consumer is able to find an alternative use for the packaging within their lifestyle, for example a bag to use while travelling, and is even recommended to be used during care of the Nova product. The bag can be utilised to store the Nova product while in the washing machine in order to reduce damage and stress of after-care on your Nova product. The bag is created from fully natural fibres and is a much more sustainable alternative to plastic packaging as it has an extended use and life in the consumer’s lifestyle.

Nova the Collective employ Pargo as their 3PL services in order to deliver to consumers and use Pargo’s sustainable product mailer bag that is created from wet paper so it is sustainable, biodegradable, yet durable. So your product can travel responsibly and still be kept safe. Furthermore, Pargo’s sustainable packaging is created locally within South Africa, much like the Nova the Collective product. This allows Nova to minimise their environmental impact of our last-mile delivery system in order to ensure our products and brand remains responsible to our climate and the South African community. The click-and-collect nature of Pargo’s delivery service also reduces the carbon-emissions impact of the delivery and shipping of the Nova products to our customers.
